What is a ceramic shell?

A ceramic veneer is a hair-thin, metal-free layer of ceramic that is bonded to the visible surface of the teeth. It is only 0.3–0.7 mm thick—roughly the same as a contact lens. During the procedure, only a minimal amount of tooth structure is removed, yet the result is beautiful, natural, and long-lasting.
